Valparaiso University's Chinese and Japanese Studies Program is unique among colleges of Valpo's size in offering not only a comprehensive collection of courses on both China and Japan but also a full range of services to students across the whole campus.
Programs in Chinese and Japanese Studies provide an opportunity for students to focus their study on this important area of the world, by examining the history, culture, and religions of China and Japan, in addition to developing some proficiency in the Chinese and Japanese language.
The Master of Arts in Chinese Studies (MACS) is an innovative program designed to prepare students in any field of undergraduate study for the opportunities and challenges posed by the emergence of China as a formidable political and economic force in the world.
The Institute will facilitate exchange-cultural, business, educational, arts, and government-between Northwest Indiana and Zhejiang province (and the city of Hangzhou).
