- Bruce Robinson
- My name is Bruce Robinson, and I am originally from Cincinnati, Ohio. In May of 2006, I graduated from Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio. While there, my area of focus was East Asian Studies and Political Science with a strong emphasis in Chinese language, culture and politics.
My background in Chinese studies began at the age five, when I began studying Chinese at a Cincinnati public elementary school. While other parents were placing their children in language courses such as Spanish, French and German, my mother believed it would be best for me to study a language that would continue to challenge me for the rest of my life. I have continued to study Chinese throughout elementary school, high school, my undergrad, and up to the present as I earn my Masters in Chinese Studies. Even after studying Chinese for the past 17 years, I still find the language challenging, exuberant, fulfilling, and in many ways "new." Accordingly, I decided to continue my education at Valparaiso University. Upon graduating from VU, I hope to obtain an advanced level of fluency and understanding of the Chinese society.
