Advising
Christ College students pursue a wide variety of majors in the college
of Arts and Sciences, and in the
professional colleges of Business
Administration, Engineering,
and Nursing.
Programs of study for Christ College Scholar or Associate designations
are planned so that students can graduate in four years without
credit overloads. (Some College of Engineering students may elect
five year programs that include two or more semesters of co-op experience.)
This is possible because most CC courses fulfill general education
requirements; others count as electives or may be cross-listed in
a student's major or minor areas of study.
Students may develop four-year plans that include international
or other off-campus study semesters if they wish. More Christ College
students study abroad than from any other college.
Christ College students benefit by working with academic advisors
in Christ College as well as with advisors in their major departments.
- First-year students meet with Christ College faculty members
for general advising and course selection during the regular fall
and spring semester advising periods, and at other times as desirable.
- Sophomores, juniors, and seniors confer with the Christ College
associate dean for general
academic advising, course selection, and long-range academic planning.

The Real World
The CC Senior Colloquium (CC 499, 1 credit) is a capstone course
in which seniors begin the transition from college to the real world
through meaningful closure with the VU and CC undergraduate experience.
In this course, seniors are guided to:
- reflect upon their college education, particularly its coherence
and relevance
- clarify their understandings of their personal spiritual journeys
- explore the relationship between faith and contemporary culture
- enhance preparation for selection and application to graduate
and professional schools
- prepare polished resumes and other employment communications
- establish community among senior classmates as a basis for class
unity, lifelong friendships, and alumni standing.
