Coursework and Advising

Associate Dean Franson advising studentsChrist College students pursue a wide variety of majors in the college of Arts and Sciences, and in the professional colleges of Business, Engineering, and Nursing and Health Professions.

Programs of study for Christ College Scholar or Associate designations are planned so that students can graduate in four years without credit overloads. (Some College of Engineering students may elect five year programs that include two or more semesters of co-op experience.) This is possible because most CC courses fulfill general education requirements; others count as electives or may be cross-listed in a student's major or minor areas of study.

Students may develop four-year plans that include international or other off-campus study semesters if they wish. More Christ College students study abroad than from any other college.

Christ College students benefit by working with academic advisors in Christ College as well as with advisors in their major departments.

  • First-year students meet with Christ College faculty members for general advising and course selection during the regular fall and spring semester advising periods, and at other times as desirable.
  • Sophomores, juniors, and seniors confer with the Christ College associate dean for general academic advising, course selection, and long-range academic planning.
