Stephen Hitchcock graduated from Valparaiso University in 1971 with a B.A. in humanities.
He has worked for a variety of church-related and non-profit organizations, and is senior manager
of special projects for Bread for the World in Washington, D.C. For the previous 22 years, he was
president of Mal Warwick & Associates, a consulting firm serving nonprofit organizations. He is
active in a variety of Lutheran organizations, including University Lutheran Chapel in Berkeley,
and Extraordinary Lutheran Ministries. He is a columnist for Contributions magazine, co-author
of “Ten Steps to Fundraising Success,” and author of “Open Immediately.”
