Michael Hron graduated from Valparaiso University in 1967 with a B.A. in political science.
He received his J.D. from Columbia University. After working at a mid-sized Chicago law firm, he
joined the Corporate and Securities Group at Sidley Austin LLP. Beginning in 1979, he also served
as principal outside counsel to the Telephone and Data Systems, and played a major role in the
growth of its largest subsidiary, United States Cellular Corp. In 2002 he retired from Sidley Austin
and moved to Scottsdale, Ariz. He is now a private investor, while maintaining his avid interests
in fishing, hunting, golf, and international travel.
