Julie Meyer is chief executive of Ariadne Capital, a European investment firm she founded in
2000. Ariadne backs entrepreneurs in diverse media (music, broadcast, publishing, advertising,
mobile Internet, and Internet). Meyer has been named Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year,
a World Economic Forum Global Leader of Tomorrow, and as one of the Wall Street Journal’s
“30 Most Influential Women in Europe.” Meyer is an active media contributor herself, writing a
weekly column for London’s City A.M. and contributing to Business Week, Computing, FT Digital
Business, and Spectator Business. She also is a regular business commentator on the BBC and
CNBC, and writes for BBC’s online business forum Dragon’s Den. She is currently organizing an
association to assist teenage girls and promote investment in young women’s futures.
