Rebecca Pallmeyer is a judge of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Following her graduation from Valparaiso University, Pallmeyer attended The University of Chicago School of Law and received the J.D. in 1979. After law school she clerked for Judge Rosalie Wahl of the Minnesota Supreme Court, then spent several years doing commercial litigation for a large Chicago law firm. She left this career path to follow a vocation with a greater service orientation and worked for several years with Illinois’s state civil rights agency before assuming her first position on the bench. Pallmeyer received a Distinguished Alumni Award from Valparaiso University in 2002 and has served as a member of the board of directors of the VU Alumni Association.
