Kevin Hoffman earned his BA in philosophy and theology from Valparaiso University and his PhD in philosophy from Fordham University. His primary interests are in the philosophy of religion, ethics, and social thought. Hoffman has published on the Danish author Søren Kierkegaard in the Journal of Religion, the Journal of Religious Ethics, Christianity and Literature, and the International Philosophical Quarterly. He is writing an extended commentary on Kierkegaard's Stages on Life's Way. In 2008 he received Valparaiso's Caterpillar Award for Excellence in Teaching.
