Biography

Jonathan MacFarlane received his BA from the University of Calgary, his MA from McMaster University. He previously taught at Oglethorpe University (GA). His teaching and research interests include early modern political philosophy, constitutional politics, federalism, and politics and literature. He has presented papers on Hobbes, Locke, and Montesquieu, as well as the political philosophy of the Canadian constitution and has published on Kant and Rousseau. He is writing a political analysis of the plays of French writer Bernard-Marie Koltès, and a constitutional assessment of Canadian aboriginal policy.
