James Strasburg, chair of the Social Action Leadership Team (SALT), is working with the Valparaiso International Student Association and the School of Law to raise funds for earthquake relief in Haiti.  The fundraiser "Valpo has a Heart for Haiti" plans to collect $15,000 before February 26th.  Strasburg is encouraging campus organizations to hold events, raise funds and spread awareness about the situation in Haiti.  The money raised will be distributed among Lutheran World Relief, the Red Cross, and grassroots micro-organizations focused on relief.

Strasburg also helped organize a university-wide prayer vigil for the victims of the Haiti earthquake, which was held at the Chapel of the Ressurection a week after the disaster.
