Courtney Heitkamp serves as this year's student body president and a visible leader on Valpo's campus.  A political science major, Courtney has been a member of Student Senate for three years, and has also been the president of College Republicans.  In addition to her on-campus activities, Courtney engages in local politics in both Valparaiso and Sioux Falls, SD, her hometown. 

As student body president, Courtney addressed the campus community at Opening Convocation.  She urged students to strive towards the highest academic, spiritual and personal standards. From encouraging freshmen to be actively involved on campus to voicing every senior's thoughts about the anticipation of a final year, Courtney spoke to excite and energize the entire student body.  

Other activities Courtney participates in include the Christ College Student Steering Committee, Pi Sigma Alpha - the American Political Science Association, and the Intramural Advisory Council.
