Valparaiso University China Center was established in January 2002. The Center is funded with a generous grant from the Freeman Foundation. The primary objective of the China Center is to coordinate and manage various initiatives launched by Valparaiso University in an effort to heighten students’ interest in Chinese and Japanese studies across the University’s full curriculum and to offer valuable learning experiences that combine classroom activities with extensive undergraduate research and internship opportunities both in the US and in the Hangzhou region in China. To achieve this goal, the China Center will set up an office in Hangzhou to assist the implementation of VU initiatives.
