2007 Research Seminar: Historical Memory in China

In Spring 2007, 10 VU Students under Professor Whitefield conducted a collective research project on the way in which history is remembered and memorialized in China. They spent ten days in China during Spring Break visiting various sites of historical interest, many of which directly related to their projects. All of these participants will be able to appreciate the history of China, not only through the eyes of Western scholars, but through those of the Chinese themselves.
