Valpo offers 90% of its first-time freshman a financial aid package that may include a combination of scholarships, grants, loans, and/or campus employment, depending upon the student's need. How to Apply
- New students receive consideration for academic scholarships and awards not based on need when they apply and are admitted to Valparaiso University. Apply for Admission.
- To be considered for federal (including loans) and state financial aid, you must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each year.
- Student and Parent can apply for a PIN to electronically sign the FAFSA - www.pin.ed.gov.
Application Criteria
Generally, aid recipients at Valparaiso University must:
- Be degree-seeking, and making satisfactory academic progress toward a degree according to Valpo's Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy.
- Be enrolled full-time (at least 12 credits per semester) for most aid programs.
- Be enrolled at least half-time (6 credits per semester) for certain federal loans and other programs.
- Be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or eligible non-citizen.
- Not be in default on a federal loan, owe a refund, or be in repayment on any federal or state program.
