- Applying for Admission
Two ways of applying
You have the option of completing your application online and submitting it electronically or downloading the application in Adobe PDF format. When entering your application data online please do not press the "Return" key until all information has been entered. You may press the "Tab" key to move from a question box to another.The PDF applications come packaged with all of the necessary forms, including forms for submitting letters of recommendation. If you are submitting your application online, you will need to get the forms from submitting letters of recommendation from the forms page.
College of Adult Scholars PDF Online
For applicants interested in starting or returning to college:
Complete and sign the application and return with the $30 application fee. Official copies of your high school transcript or GED and official transcripts of all college coursework must be submitted to the Office of Continuing Education. A meeting with an academic adviser is required.
For applicants taking courses leading to a certificate or for professional development:
Complete and sign the application and return with the $30 application fee. Official copies of transcripts of prior college coursework must be submitted to the Office of Continuing Education. Applicants with fewer than 30 credits of college coursework must also submit official copies of their high school transcript. A meeting with an academic adviser is required for students working toward a certificate and recommended for those taking individual courses for professional development.
For VU students changing from full-time to part-time status:
Complete and sign the application. A brief meeting with an academic adviser is required.
For applicants taking courses for personal enrichment:
Complete and sign the application and return with the $30 application fee. Official copies of high school and/or college transcripts must be submitted to the Office of Continuing Education.SAGE
In addition to the SAGE Application, you will need to provide us with the following: - $30 non-refundable application fee, payable to Valparaiso University.
High School Programs Young Scholars Academy for Talented High School Students In addition to the Young Scholars Academy Application, you will need to provide us with the following: - provide Counselor and/or Endorsement Form (located at the bottm of this table);
- provide PSAT, ACT, or SAT scores (see Application and Counselor Endorsement Form);
- have your high school send a copy of your transcript;
- submit a 1-page essay stating why you wish to participate in the program;
- pass any screening or entry test, such as auditions, creative writing samples, solving math problems, etc.;
- $30 non-refundable application fee, payable to Valparaiso University;
- interview with VU Academic Department advisor or chair.
College Experience Honors Program In addition to the College Experience Honors Application, you will need to provide us with the following: - provide Counselor Endorsement Form (located at the bottom of this table);
- provide PSAT, ACT, or SAT scores (see Application and Counselor Endorsement Form);
- have your high school send a copy of your transcript;
- list the course or courses for which you would like to be considered (see Course Selection handout)’
- $30 non-refundable application fee, payable to Valparaiso University;
- meet with high school student advisor.
Counselor Endorsement Form
This form is required as part of the application process for both the Gifted & Talented Program and the College Experience Honors Program. The application is available for download in PDF format. You will need Adobe Reader in order to view and print the application.
