WHAT?
The PPST is a pre-professional skills test for beginning teachers and is a requirement for Indiana Teacher Certification. The test is an academic assessment of proficiencies for individuals entering college or provisional teacher preparation programs. The test consists of three one-hour parts; Reading, Mathematics and Writing.
WHY?
Successful completion of the PPST is a requirement for admittance into the Teacher Education Program. The following are the minimum passing scores for Valparaiso University and The State of Indiana as of 1-04:

WHEN?
The following are up-coming test dates, along with the registration deadline.
Registration should be filed at least six weeks prior to the exam date.

There is a $110 fee to take the paper and pencil format of the PPST. The Sylvan Learning Center has a $120 registration fee for the computer-based version of the PPST.
RESULTS?
ALL TEST SCORES SHOULD BE SENT TO VALPARAISO UNIVERSITY TO BE REVIEWED FOR ADMITTANCE INTO THE TEACHER EDUCATION PROGRAM.
“Agencies to Receive Score Reports” please send scores to A1874 and R1874.
Allow six weeks to receive written verification of test results. There is an additional $20 fee to verify scores through a phone service.
