Fall Elementary Literacy Workshop

                                Keynote Speaker:  Dr. Lester Laminack

Nationally recognized keynote speaker and author, Dr. Lester Laminack, will address this year's theme, "Reading Across the Curriculum:  How to Build Bridges in Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies".  Lester Laminack, researcher of the teaching of reading, is nationally known academic and children's author.  The workshop will provide a bold new framework for weaving read-alouds into the classroom.  These researched stategies will give teachers effective ways to make the read-aloud successful and lead students to higher comprehension levels.  Participants will discover how, why and when to read aloud to accomplish literacy goals in language arts, math, science and social studies.


In response to the economic times the University has significantly reduced the registration fee.  It is the mission of the University to continue to serve teachers in the region.  Hope you are able to benefit from this year's special rates.  Also,new this year, for every four paid registrations, a fifth teacher from the same school may attend for FREE.  All five attendees must be registrered at the same time to receive the discount.
