Stephanie Harvey is best known for her highly practical and efficient resources for teachers to implement explicit comprehension instruction. This workshop will target even the most challlenging students to become more engaged in the learning. We are privileged to have Stephanie Harvey present as the keynote speaker at the tenth annual literacy workshop. Stephanie will present effective research-based strategies to engage and inspire all students.
Stephanie's professional background spans thirty-eight years and includes eighteen years as an elementary and special education teacher. Stephanie is internationally regarded as a literacy specialist; she speaks on progressive literacy practices and educational curricular resources. Her publications incluude Strategies that Work: Teaching Comprehension fo Understanding and Engageemnt which has sold over 800,000 copies, The Comprehension Toolkit series, Connecting Comprehension & Technolgoy, and most recent Comprehension and Colaboration: Inquiry Circles in Action.
In response to the economic times the University will offer a special group rate; for every four paid registrations, a fifth teacher from the same school may attend for FREE. All five attendees must be registered at the same time to receive the discount. Discounts and early registration ends June 20, 2014.
