Valparaiso University alumnus Daniel Kuznik was named the 2008 Indiana Teacher of the Year on September 13, 2007. Kuznik graduated from VU with majors in secondary education and mathematics. Kuznik's dedication to his profession and his students has won him several awards, including Pike Township's District Teacher of the Year (2006-2007) and the 2006 Golden Apple Award from the Indianapolis Power and Light Company.
