Before starting his own consulting company in 2003, John Draheim served as vice president, corporate services, for FLAG Telecom Limited in London, England, a global sub-sea fiber optic network services provider and carrier’s carrier. He is president of his own telecommunications consulting company, J.L. Draheim & Associates. Draheim also was vice president of operations at Ameritech International in Chicago, during which time he served as general manager and member of the board of directors of Ameritech’s joint venture in China and executive director of the Hungarian Telecommunications Company. Before his four years in London with FLAG Telecom, Draheim spent 35 years in the telecommunications industry working for AT&T and its affiliates. He holds a master’s degree in management from Pace University and also is a licensed professional engineer. In addition to serving as chairman of Valpo’s College of Engineering National Council, Draheim is vice chairman of the board of the Clearwater Marine Aquarium in Clearwater, Fla. Draheim was the recipient of a 2006 VUAA Alumni Achievement Award.
