Upon graduation from Valparaiso University in 1959 with a B.S. degree in civil engineering, Ralph W. Johnson joined Turner Construction Co. in its Chicago office as a field engineer. He progressed through various field and office assignments, experiencing almost every aspect of Turner’s business. He was promoted to vice president and operations manager in Turner’s Cleveland office. Following other assignments at Turner Corp., he was promoted to senior vice president and corporate operations manager. He participated in a number of industry organizations especially The Associated General Contractors of America and its New York State and Virginia chapters; he served as National AGC President in 2000. He has contributed to industry publications, has participated on numerous industry panels, and has frequently spoken to industry associations and AGCA chapters throughout the United States. He has received a number of awards and honors from the construction industry. Upon retirement in 2003, he formed Mason-Johnson, LLC in order to continue service to the construction industry.
