Verne R. Schneider (BSCE 1963)

Verne R. Schneider develops and manages programs that involve water resources assessment and management issues in the Middle East, Africa, Central and South America, and Asia in support of United States government and United Nations programs. Schneider serves as the executive secretary of the U.S. National Committee for the UNESCO International Hydrological Program; is a member of the World Meteorological Organization’s Commission for Hydrology; and serves as the United States Geological Survey liaison for the International Atomic Energy Agency Isotope Hydrology Program. He is an adviser to the Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance, USAID, and the Department of State water teams. Schneider holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Valparaiso University and a master’s and doctorate from Colorado State University. Schneider has received numerous awards and honors and has received the U.S. Geological Survey Engineer of the Year award by the National Society of Professional Engineers.
