By focusing on a particular issue, theme, or topic, which provides the substantive core for the course, this seminar explores the various ways by which the humanities--especially literature, philosophy, theology, and the languages--contribute greater insight into our individual and common humanity. This seminar is recommended as a first course in the student's MALS program. Topics will vary. Note that three of the seminars numbered 610 through 640 are required for the MALS degree. Normally offered every fall.
