Professor Carter Hanson's book on Canadian emigration, Emigration, Nation, Vocation: The Literature of English Emigration to Canada, 1825-1900, is now available from Michigan State University Press. The book explores how Canadian emigration intersected with how certain English Victorian writers imagined an "ideology of the landed vocation."
