Receptions

A complimentary reception with “finger foods” and beverages is offered to graduates and their families following the Baccalaureate Service. This allows families to stay on campus after the service and eliminate worries about leaving campus for lunch and being back in time for the afternoon ceremony. Graduates are assigned to specific locations for the reception based on their degree/college. To assist in planning, you will be asked to make reservations for the reception.

Photos

Professional photographers from Chappell Studio Inc. will take your photo as you are awarded your diploma. The studio will be in contact with you soon after the ceremony to show you a proof and provide instructions on ordering prints if you wish to have them.

Shuttle Service

The University will be providing shuttle service from campus parking lots to the Chapel and the ARC. Shuttle service will begin at 8:30 a.m. prior to Baccalaureate and continue until the majority of people have left the area of the ARC in the afternoon. The shuttle vehicles will run on a continuous schedule, stopping at each of the major campus parking lots.

Local Lodging

Families wishing to reserve rooms in a local motel are encouraged to do so as early as possible since there will be heavy demand. Similarly, families planning to dine together at a local restaurant may wish to make reservations in advance if possible. Although the length of the commencement ceremony is impossible to predict, it typically ends by 3:30 - 3:45 p.m. Graduates who plan to pick up their diploma following the ceremony should add additional time.
