The 56th Annual Northwestern Indiana Science and Engineering Fair (NWISEF) was a grand success with 110 students from Porter, LaPorte, and Starke County middle and high schools participating on Saturday, March 21, 2009. Congratulations go out to all our winners and especially those who continued on to compete at the Hoosier Science and Engineering Fair (HSEF) in Indianapolis on April 4th!
Finalist Chelsea Arthur from New Prairie High School amazed us all by winning the Governor's Award at the HSEF, presented by Governor Mitch Daniels, Dr. Tony Bennett, Superintendant of Public Instruction, and Bob Compton, producer of Two Million Minutes. Chelsea received a check for $10,000 and a Two Million Minute video collection. Way to go Chelsea!
