Valparaiso University offers an Exploratory Program that gives incoming students, who have yet to declare a major, the opportunity to investigate the many possible degree programs we offer without feeling the pressure to settle on a major right away. The Exploratory Program offers a pathway for students to discover their interests, skills and aptitudes, while providing guidance, resources and support services along the way. In almost all cases, students who enter Valpo as an Exploratory student and later choose a major still graduate in four years. What makes Valpo's Exploratory Program distinctive is four central components: Exploratory Advising, Exploratory Launch, Majors Fair and the Exploratory Studies and Vocational Discernment Course (GS 150). If you are undecided about your major, being an Exploratory student will give you the opportunity to find the major that best fits with who you are and who you imagine yourself to be.
