Several of the decorative street lights along Sturdy Road south of the east entrance to campus are being temporarily removed by the city and relocated to the new roundabout and east along LaPorte Avenue.
New lights for the roundabout were ordered, but delivery has been delayed for several weeks. In order to have adequate lighting for the roundabout, especially during heavy traffic at the end of the business day, some of the Sturdy Road lights are being relocated.
City officials said the sidewalk along Sturdy Road remains adequately lit and that the relocated street lights will be replaced once the order arrives.

While installation of permanent windows continues, workers will begin placing temporary coverings over other windows in the next couple of weeks in order to more efficiently heat the building now that colder weather is near. Maintaining stable temperatures inside the building will allow work to progress with minimal interruption throughout the winter.
Interior work continues to focus on infrastructure: installation of plumbing, electrical conduit, ducts for heating and cooling, etc. On the exterior, concrete will be poured for pads for air conditioning as work continues on sections of the roof, installation of brick and limestone.

Fifty Douglas and Fraser fir trees have been donated to the University and will be planted next week on the north end of the recreational fields in the Eastgate Complex east of Sturdy Road. Top soil is being added to the new playing field being created on the east side of the complex in preparation for planting grass seed.
Landscaping has begun on the north side of Kretzmann Hall and could be completed by the end of next week, weather permitting. It is the final area of landscape restoration resulting from last spring’s extensive digging on campus.
