“I’M A VALPO GRADUATE” - AMY VIE ’89, RN & DIVISION SALES MANAGER, JOHNSON & JOHNSON

College of Nursing Alumna Amy Vie ’89, RN & Division Sales Manager, Johnson & Johnson

When seeking the perfect university, I looked for a Christian institution with a top College of Nursing. Valparaiso University was a perfect fit for me.

Valpo prepared me for future opportunities in many ways. Not only was I taught cutting-edge skills needed to succeed in the nursing profession, but I also learned the importance of teamwork and professional networking through my sorority. Professor Elise Alverson mentored me and helped bring out my potential for a dynamic future.

After graduation, I became a registered nurse and worked in the neurosurgery operating room. My enthusiasm for surgery led me to become a Johnson & Johnson medical device sales representative.

Today I am a division sales manager for Ethicon, a Johnson & Johnson company that specializes in minimally invasive surgery for women. I work directly with a team of sales representatives and assist them in becoming dynamic leaders within Johnson & Johnson. My Valpo education has given me the ability to share my expertise in anatomy, physiology, and teamwork, and encourage my team to apply this knowledge to the field and grow professionally.

Valpo has greatly contributed to my success as a division sales manager. I am truly proud to say that I’m a Valpo graduate.
