Many students and families use private loans as an additional source of funds after utilizing their federal loans options.  We strongly encourage you to take full advantage of all Federal Direct Student and Parent Loans before applying for a private loan.

All private lenders require credit checks, and most require credit worthy co-signers for student borrowers.   A loan application is required and loans are limited to the cost of attendance at Valpo less other financial aid received. Loan funds will be sent via electronic transfers to the Finance Office.

The lenders listed below are among the lenders commonly used by our students. This is not a list of preferred lenders: you are not required to use any one of them. However, if you wish, check out the list to compare loan terms and payment amounts. If you are interested, you can apply on their websites using the lenders below.
