Education Scholarships

BrainTrack Teaching Scholarship

BrainTrack offers a scholarship for teaching students that are planning to teach between kindergarten and 12th grade. A winning and runnerup award is given every semester to students currently in a teaching degree program. Applicants are asked to provide essays on their experiences as a teaching student.

Amount: $1000

Charley Wooten Grant Program

The grants are available to students pursuing undergraduate degrees or certificates, or enrolled in teacher certification programs. TG will award the one-year grants of up to $4,000 on a first-come, first-served basis. The funds must be used to pay for postsecondary education. There is a program for Texas residents and non-Texas residents.

DEADLINE: May 1

Delta Kappa Gamma Beta Tau Chapter Scholarship: "Grant-in-Aid"

For a female student teacher from Hamilton County or has a student teaching assignment in a Hamilton County school.
 
Additional requirements:
 
1. Must be a graduating senior
2. Major in education
3. Be in upper one fourth of her class
4. Prefer student with financial need
 
Amount: $500
DEADLINE: April 30

Indiana Retired Teacher Association Scholarship

Applicant must:

1. Be an Indiana resident
2. Be a son/daughter, grandson/granddaughter, legal dependent or spouse of an active, retired, or deceased member of the Indiana Teachers Retirement Fund (TRF).
3. Have achieved at least a "C" grade point average for three semesters
4. Be sophomore standing when applying to receive as junior
5. Be majoring in education

Amount: $3000

Richard F. Surber Scholarship

Eligibility requirements:

1. Resident of LaPorte County
2. Junior or Senior
3. At least 2.5 G.P.A.
4. Pursuing career in special education

Amount: $500
