Abacus Scholarship: Every Student Counts

The Abacus Scholarship sweepstakes recognizes the intrinsic value of every student journey, wherever it shall lead. It is a scholarship award where every entry is granted the same chance to win, where every student's journey is seen and celebrated as equal, valuable and necessary. We believe every student counts: regardless of where, when or how an individual's passions and circumstances lead them to becoming one.

1. The basics: The Abacus Scholarship is open to all students enrolled in any institution of higher education. Deadline: Midnight, December 15, and Midnight June 15, annually, 2 per calendar year awarded for $1234.00 each. Awards announced January 15 and July 15, annually.

3. Who qualifies: This scholarship is tailored to any student either enrolled or accepted for enrollment in full or part-time programs of study. Eligible applicants will also be U.S. citizens (born or naturalized), nationals or lawful permanent residents.

Balanced Man Scholarships

Sigma Phi Epsilon believes learning how to balance roles and activities in college is one of the most important life skills one can learn. We believe recognizing students who exhibit balance, all-around excellence, is one way to promote this important idea. Therefore, every year, we offer four Balanced Man Scholarships in the amount of (1) $1000 and (3) $500. These scholarships are offered to incoming male students who have excelled in the development of a Sound Mind and a Sound Body during their high school careers. Our aim is to reward men who exemplify these qualities, as we believe they are essential to leading a balanced life. Bethseda Lutheran Community Scholarships

Bethesda Lutheran Communities scholarship applications are available for Lutheran high school, college and seminary students interested in pursuing careers in the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities.

 Six scholarships will be awarded: two $3,000 awards for current college students; one $3,000 award for a seminary student; and three $500 awards for high school seniors.

Eligibility:

Applicants must be active communicant members of a Lutheran congregation, including those of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod, Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod, Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, Evangelical Lutheran Synod and North American Lutheran Church.

Gilman Scholarship

Eligibility:

The Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program is open to all U.S. citizen undergraduates, in good academic standing, who meet the criteria listed below:
  • The applicant must be receiving a Federal Pell Grant or provide proof that he/she will be receiving a Pell Grant at the time of application or during the term of his/her study abroad.

Talbots Scholarship Program

ELIGIBILITY

Applicants to the 2012 Talbots Scholarship Foundation must:

  • Be women currently residing in the United States or Canada;
  • Be women who have earned a high school diploma or their GED on or before September 2002;
  • Be enrolled or planning to enroll in full- or part-time undergraduate study at an accredited 2- or 4- year college or university;
