The following awards may be offered to qualified students. Amounts may vary.

Allen Scholarship

  • Awarded for — Church Work; amount varies, based on need
  • Students preparing for professional rostered church vocations
  • Must complete undergraduate admission application and Allen scholarship application by Jan. 15
  • File FAFSA by March 1
  • Will be contacted by Office of Admission in Early March
  • Renewal GPA: 3.0

Ament-Brenner

  • Awarded for — Healthcare; amount varies, based on need
  • Member of a Lutheran congregation in the greater St. Louis, MO area preparing for a career in the healthcare fields (nursing, physical/occupational therapy, pre-medical arts), separate application required from undergraduate admission application, recipients selected by Valpo's Scholarship committee.
  • File FAFSA by March 1
  • Will be contacted by Office of Admission in Early March
  • Renewal GPA: Must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress

Award for Excellence

Lutheran Leadership

  • Awarded to — Lutheran students actively engaged in leadership roles in their districts, synods or Lutheran high schools; Full Tuition, Two awards annually
  • Nominated by leaders within respective Lutheran denominations
  • Be an early action candidate
  • Submit Lutheran Leader application and two letters of recommendation by Jan. 15
  • Will be notified by Office of Church Relations Mid-March
  • Renewal GPA: Must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress

Martin Luther Award

  • $8000 per year ($32,000 for 4 years)
  • Dependent daughters and sons of full-time, professional, rostered Lutheran Church workers. If a student qualifies for a higher academic scholarship, that scholarship replaces the Martin Luther Award. (transfer students also eligible)
  • Complete undergraduate admission application
  • Will be notified with offer of admission
  • Renewal GPA: Must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress

Ed Voelz Endowed Scholarship
