To Lifeguard and supervise safe and proper use of the Valparaiso University swimming pool. The main responsibilities are to assist in pool operations, clean aquatic facility when needed, record daily participation, control participants and handle immediate first aide needs. The lifeguard must e dedicated to the insurance of safety to the patrons using the pool and maintain positive relations and rapport with the other staff. 

Special Skills

Must have a current Red Cross Lifeguard Certification

Preferred Water Safety Instruction Certification

Preferred previous lifeguard experience

Must pass Valparaiso University lifeguard skills test 

Knowledge of Valparaiso University policies
