kern Alison (Heitland) Kern earned her B.A. in Classics and English at Valparaiso University in 2004.  She is currently President and Lead Writer of Firelight Freelancing, in Albion, NE and former Development Coordinator for International Child Care USA, in Columbus, OH

" When I first came to Valpo in the fall of 2000, I had no intentions of being a Classics major. I had taken Latin in high school, but I was already set on getting an English degree, and the job prospects seemed slim enough as it was…at least to my parents! But after my first semester of Latin—translating Cicero with the inimitable Professor Helms—I was having too much fun to stop there ..."


biebighauser  Jeffrey Biebighauser earned his B.A. in Classics and Humanities at Valparaiso University in 2005.  He earned his M.A. with honors in Philosophical Theology at The University of Nottingham, UK and is currently a Ph.D. candidate at Nottingham.

 Brock Peter Brock earned his B.A. in Classics and Theology at Valparaiso University in 2006.  He is currently an M.Div. candidate at Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Indiana.  He also serves as Vicar at West Portal Lutheran Church and School in San Francisco, California.

 Hardaloupas Anna Hardaloupas earned her B.A. in Classics at Valparaiso University in 2006.  Formerly an instructor at the Bristol Language Institute in Covilha, Portugal, she is currently working in Chicago, Illinois in the Ancient Coin Department at Harlan J. Berk.

 Jackson Christopher Jackson earned his B.A. in Classical Languages and Philosophy at Valparaiso University in 2001. He earned a M.Div. at Concordia Seminary in Saint Louis, Missouri in 2006.  He current serves as Associate Pastor at Saint John’s Lutheran Church in Lexington, Kentucky.
