Professor Ames, Associate Professor, is head of the Spanish section and academic advisor to Spanish majors and minors. Her areas of interest include Peninsular (Spanish) literature in general, Golden Age theater, and the role of women in Hispanic literature and society. She received her doctorate from the University of Virginia and has been at VU since 1987.
