French Scholarships

Valpo's French program offers several targeted scholarships that provide French students with financial assistance.


There are two types of scholarships for incoming French majors:


1. Apply for the Foreign Languages and Literatures Scholarship by January of your senior year in high school ($1,000, renewable each year for a total of $4,000).

2. The Professor Carol Petersen Scholarship is awarded every year to an incoming student majoring in French or German ($1,000, renewable each year for a total of $4,000). Students are nominated for this scholarship by the French professors.


When you are a junior French major at Valpo, you become eligible for the Patterson McLean Friedrich French Scholarship ($1,000 award) Students are nominated for this scholarship by the French professors.
