I choose Valpo...

because I can study nursing and continue to learn about my other passions -- faith, German, and music.

Nursing major, German minor

Becca Berry's nursing major doesn't mean that she can't have a German minor and spend time in Germany.  Becca's serious side is leading her to a life of service as a Deaconess; she plans to attend the July 2013 Diakonia world assembly in Berlin, followed by a summer internship at a deaconess hospital in Germany.  Becca's sillier side meant that we saw her in a bright red wig in a production of Ritt auf die Wartburg (Friederike Roth) at Valpo's Eighth Annual Theaterfest and in a nun's habit in a German class skit about Der arme Heinrich!  A member of SALT (Social Action Leadership Team), Becca has edited that organization's quarterly publication, Shaker and plays in Valpo's band.  Becca hopes to become a nurse midwife someday.

"The classes are interactive and allow me to practice my speaking! Also, my teachers and advisor help me work out my schedule so that I can be a nursing major, take German classes and play my oboe."
