Student Profile: Erin
German & Civil Engineering

The Valparaiso International Engineering Program caught the interest of Erin Dillon during Summer FOCUS, and she hasn’t looked back since then. As a Civil Engineering and German major, her studies over the past four years have provided Erin with the strong language foundation and technical background she needs to support her where she is now – working in Reutlingen, Germany, for six months as a co-op assistant in the project group for the new city hall. Although she wishes the year abroad wouldn’t go so fast, Erin is looking forward to applying the skills she has learned through this opportunity back at Valpo, where she will be living in the German House and working on a Senior Design Project for Civil Engineering.

“The Valparaiso International Engineering Program has fostered my passion for German language and culture, while also developing my perspective as a civil engineer in the global community.”
