 Plans are underway for a new Spanish language immersion opportunity within The Uptown East, a new apartment complex taking shape on East Lincolnway north of campus. The Spanish House will house students who express a commitment to living in an intentional Spanish immersion environment in an off-campus, apartment-style residence. Students make a commitment to speak Spanish in communal areas of the apartment complex as well as to share communal evening meals Sunday through Thursday. Participation in additional cultural activities in conjunction with the Spanish Club is also a component of the experience. Upper-class students (sophomore and above) who have completed Spanish 204 are eligible to apply. Students who are heritage speakers (students who speak some Spanish at home) are encouraged to apply.
