Teaching of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) Certificate


Program Description
The 15-credit graduate TESOL certificate is available to degree and non-degree students in the Graduate Division, including international students and members of the Northwest Indiana community. Students in programs with a language or international focus (i.e., International Commerce & Policy; English Studies; MALS) may benefit most from the certificate.

Students in the Master of Arts in English Studies & Communication program may apply up to 12 credits from their degree towards the TESOL certificate. Students in other degree programs may typically apply 6-9 credits from their degree toward the certificate.

Criteria for Admission
VU graduate students may apply to the program using an abbreviated application form. Others must meet the requirements for admission to the Graduate Division and provide evidence of experience learning a foreign language.

Financial Considerations

Tuition for the TESOL graduate certificate is approximately $6,750.
