Programs of Study for International Students

International students are eligible to apply to most graduate programs at Valparaiso University, including those in Business, Counseling, English Studies & Communication, International Commerce & Policy, Liberal Studies, Nursing, and Sports Administration. Limited study in the field of graduate education is also possible. Certain professional programs (such as Nursing) may have special requirements of international students before admission can be granted.

The International Commerce & Policy program is designed especially for international students wanting to develop proficiency and understanding in areas related to international relations, business, and policy. The program, which can be completed in 12 months if the students begins the program on July 1, consists of a core of 21 credits that includes initial coursework in English for Business (for non-native speakers) and International Culture and U.S. Business. The remaining 12 credits consist of elective courses in Law, Business, Political Science, or Research methods, and Statistics. Beyond English for Business, students may elect 3 credits of non-native language instruction.

International students interested in the Master of Law (LL.M.), a degree primarily for international lawyers holding a law degree and wishing to enhance their understanding of the American legal system, should contact the Valparaiso University School of Law directly by emailing valpolaw@valpo.edu or by visiting their website at http://www.valpo.edu/law.
