Course Selections


Courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels are offered in each session in virtually all areas of the College of Arts and Sciences, together with selected undergraduate courses in the College of Business Administration, the College of Engineering, and the College of Nursing. Each session features a variety of courses in the morning and in the evening to accommodate the student who wishes to take coursework while employed full- or part-time. VU offers a substantial number of on-line summer classes, enabling completion of VU course work using distance learning formats. These courses typically require minimal or no classroom time at VU, thus permitting students to reside at home, save residence hall costs, and even hold a summer job. Also offered in the summer for academic credit are several one-week workshops and other abbreviated format courses.  Visit the Office of the Registrar for more information.

Educational tours, both domestic and international, are regularly offered during the summer. Information regarding tours is included in the Summer Session Bulletin, as well as in special descriptive brochures available from the departments offering the course.
