Things to pay attention to for future maps

• Review specifications/directions first
• Use Group (control G) and Layers
• Use the Align Pallette (Window Menu)
• Letterspacing and All Caps for labels in large areas (Tracking in Character pallette)
• Preferred point label positions (Dent pg. 239)
• Pay attention to oulines (scale bar)
• Print out draft and check the following before handing in:
  • Does it meet specifications?
  • extraneous lines
  • lines not meeting up
  • spelling/typoes
  • principles of cartographic design
