VR Field Trip 8 Political Geography on the Net

Take a look at the following sites that have been influential in previous election seasons as well as the current one and answer the following questions for each with a partner. We will discuss these questions at the end of class as well as issues from today's readings, so nothing written needs to be handed in.

1. What does the site do?

2. How does the site encourage communicative exchange among citizens either online or offline?

3. To what extent do these sites transform elections and the democratic process? How do they transform the democratic process?

4. How are the advertising and the campaign materials on these sites different than TV advertisements? So the same strategies that work on TV seem to work on the Internet?
