"The Rural" and Nature Degradation of the Enviornment by Agriclture and Industry Urban Encroachment Climate Change
To what extent is the transition in governance from paternalist, to statist, to governance present in the "sunset" article? How is the contrast between natura-ruralist and utilitarian perspectives present in the articles? Why do older residents protest the cleanup of the mountain? Should ski area CEOs be more proactive in planning for climate change? To what extent could addressing climate change hurt business? How might climate change affect other aspects of rural industray and life? Are there similarities in the situations in Pennsylvania and Australia? What generalizations can we make about environmental problems based on these articles and the reading in the textbook?
