"Race" in the Country

Questions for Discussion

How are class and economic interests connected with the growth and decline of racist institutions?

What is the economic impact of racism on rural areas? Do they suffer economically because of racial prejudice?

How is racism both a consequence of individual attitudes and structural and policial contexts?

Why did the Klan support Coolidge and why did their membership go along with it even though it may not have been economically advantageous for them to do so?
