To Submit a Paper of Poster Abstract (Deadline is 4 September 1998)
Abstract format:
Please submit one paper copy and either an IBM compatible disk in WordPerfect, Word, or ASCII, or as an attachment to an e-mail. Please indicate on your paper copy whether it is a poster or paper, and the format and version (i.e., WordPerfect 7) used. Do not underline, do not use italics or codes for justification, hyphenation, line height, line centering, margins, spacing, etc. Please mark superscripts or subscripts or other special requirements or characters in red on the paper copy. Please submit the abstract to: Waltraud Brinkmann, Department of Geography, University of Wisconsin-Madison, 213 Science Hall, 550 N. Park Street, Madison, WI 53706-1491. Internet: brinkmann@geography.wisc.edu. Paper presentations will be limited to 20 minutes (including 5 minutes for discussion).
To Submit a Paper for the Student Paper Competition (Deadline is 4 September 1998)
Submit five copies of the paper together with the abstract. The abstract must conform to the guidelines for abstracts (see section above). A letter from the student's department must accompany the submission, verifying the status and eligibility of the student and the level of competition (undergraduate, graduate).
Normally one award in each of the two categories is presented each year, but decisions regarding the awards are left to the discretion of the Honors Committee. Each first place award will consist of $100, a year's paid membership in the Association of American Geographers, and a certificate.
