August 30 Monday 5:30 p.m. at the German House	German Club Brat Fry and Officer Elections: -- Meet other German students -- Meet our German exchange students from Reutlingen and Tübingen -- Be elected to high office in the German Club
September 10 Friday 5:00 p.m. home of Johannes Helms (retired classics professor) -- meet at German House for a ride	Oktoberfest Enjoy this annual event: food and drink at the home of Johannes Helms (retired classics professor)
September 23-24 Thursday and Friday	Phi Beta Kappa Visiting Scholar Professor Thomas Childers of the University of Pennsylvania, a World War II historian with an emphasis on Germany, will be on campus for two days, will meet with seminars and other student groups, and will give a public lecture. Public Lecture "The Crisis of Democracy and the Rise of Hitler: Elections, Campaigning and Mass Politics" Thursday, Sept. 23 at 6:30 p.m. in the Community Room of the Christopher Center
October 11 Monday 5:30 p.m.	VIEP-German Presentation Pizza dinner and presentation about the may 2004"Schnuppertour" to Germany. (Intended for VIEP students and prospective VIEP students.)
October 26 Tuesday 5:00 p.m. at the German House	Delta Phi Alpha (German honorary society) Initiation: Initiates will receive invitations.
November 15-21	International Education Week: Open House: Tuesday, November 16 (6:00 - 9:00 p.m.) in the Community Room of the Christopher Center German Club will organize a German table; students are encouraged to bring your scrapbooks from your semester abroad. April 19 Tuesday 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. in the Center for the Arts	Second Annual Theaterfest Valparaiso University German faculty and students invite you to participate in the Second Annual Theaterfest, where your students can showcase their theatrical and German skills, meet German students from other high schools, and have a glimpse into what university-level German students are like.
